BYU ALUMS ORGANIZE FOR FUN

ST. GEORGE – Join Cosmo, BYU athletes and the high-energy BYU Cheer Squad on Saturday, May 10 for “two fantastic events in one amazing day” states Vicky Lewis of Little Valley, chairman of the St. George Chapter of the BYU Alumni Association. Her invitation to participate is extended to all 6000 BYU alum living in Washington County, as well as their family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else in the community regardless of their school allegiance.

On the second Saturday in May at Confluence Park, 1850 S. Convention Center Drive (near the Dixie Center), the BYU Alumni Association will host the 4th Annual BYU 5K Run/Walk beginning at 7 a.m. and later in the morning, the second annual Cougar Fan Fest will begin at 10 a.m. at Vernon Worthen Park located at 300 S. 400 East.

Register for the Fun Run online at alumni.byu.edu/5K2014. The cost of $15 per person or $50 for a family of four (additional family members are $5) includes a T-shirt if registration is received by May 1. Register on-site the day of the event from 7 – 7:30 a.m.

The Cougar Fan Fest, called a thank you event for ongoing support from the community for BYU Sports, will include a bounce house for young Cougar fans and a chance to visit with BYU coaches, athletes, members of the cheer squad and Cosmo, mascot of the Provo university. Also planned are games and contests in soccer, football, basketball, golf, softball and track for athletes of all ages. Water and some food items will be available for purchase.

Funds raised on this “one amazing day” will go to the St. George Replenishment Grant for BYU scholarships to deserving Washington County students.
