OPINION — You have to be brain dead not to realize that it is getting hotter all across the southern U.S.

It is flooding in northern California and New England, the tides are flowing up the streets of coastal cities and the forests in Canada are withering under wildfires. So, climate change is real, after all. And it is getting worse every year because we are burning carbon-based fuels.

Remember all of those lies from 2016-2020. Lies meant to scare you into voting for the “party of denial.” Because fear is a strong motivator. And they want you to be scared for the economy, scared for your job, scared of foreigners, scared of cooperating with other nations. Remember the lies:

  • Climate change is not real.
  • Clean coal is good.
  • Russia does not meddle in U.S. elections.
  • The pandemic is not real. We lost more people than in the Spanish Flu of 1918!
  • The election of 2020 was rigged.
  • The Ukrainians don’t need military aide, so we can use it to bribe them for political tricks!
  • The Constitution gives the President “absolute power.” Hence, the vice president can throw out your votes!
  • And … it was just a peaceful demonstration on Jan. 6, 2021.

When you vote in 2023 and 2024, try remembering your grandchildren, instead of yourselves. They are the real ones you are forgetting by voting for the party of denial.
