Michael F. Woodard

June 4, 1952 – March 26, 2024

Mike was born June 4, 1952, in Provo, Utah, to Flaonce Dezzary and Dorothy Cox Woodard. He lived there for a short time. He also lived in Barstow, California. He spent some time with his mom in Cedar City, along with his brother Russ, who was his best friend.

Mike and Russ spent a lot of time together. They tubed the Provo River, fishing and having fun.

The family eventually moved to Orem, and this is where he met his eternal companion, Debbie Pead. He robbed the cradle. She was 17 and he was 20 when they got married. They have been great companions for 54 years.

Their family was No. 1 to Mike. He and Deb were blessed with six wonderful kids and 31 grandkids. They were and are the “apple of his eye.” He was a father figure to many others. He will miss these cherished memories. He has left behind a legacy of love.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Woodard of St. George, Utah; son Cody (Tara) Woodard of Lake Lure, North Carolina; Jeremy (Jamie) Woodard of St. George, Utah; Shane (Lisa) Woodard of St. George, Utah; Hayley (Tyson) Merritt of Star Valley, Wyoming; Lindsey (Randon) Fox of Parma, Idaho; and Caleb Woodard (deceased). What a joyous reunion for him and his baby boy!

Through the trials that preceded his passing, Mike took great comfort in his testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Like Peter in the New Testament, he knew that it is only in and through the Savior of the world that we find salvation. When trials come, it is to Him that we can look for comfort and peace. During this hard time and throughout this wonderful Easter season, may we all look to Him for the hope that only He can bring.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Foremaster Chapel, 912 S. 1740 E., St. George, Utah.
