Washington City Police Department Lt. Kory Klotz told St. George News that witnesses reported the driver of a white Kia sedan was traveling westbound on Telegraph when the light at the Washington Parkway intersection reportedly turned red.

“The driver of that vehicle ran a red light,” he said.

The Kia then struck a Volkswagen Jetta that was making the turn onto Telegraph from the parkway causing airbags in both vehicles to deploy.

“Occupants in the vehicles were wearing seatbelts and airbags were deployed,” Klotz added. “Both drivers declined medical service after being treated on scene by Gold Cross and Washington City Fire.”
