IRON COUNTY — A fire destroyed multiple structures in a remote area of Iron County on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a news release issued by Iron County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 1 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a structure fire on property located west of Antelope Road and north of Newcastle.
The 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from a large wooden structure on their neighbor’s property approximately one mile away, the news release states. The caller told dispatchers they didn’t believe anyone was at home at the time.
“The fire fully engulfed a two-story wooden shed and a trailer house, burning both to the ground,” the release states. “One additional small wooden shed was partially burned.”
Meanwhile, the family home located nearby did not sustain any damage.
No injuries were reported.
While it’s not yet known how the fire started, Iron County Sheriff’s deputies said they have found nothing suspicious.
Agencies responding to the scene included Iron County Sheriff’s Office, Beryl Fire Department, Enterprise Fire Department, Color County Interagency Fire, Utah Division of Natural Resources and Beryl EMS.
