Featuring works by Utah Tech students and faculty members, the showcase will open with an artist reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 19, and continue to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays until May 3, according to a news release issued by the university.

Admission is free to both the opening reception and exhibition, which will be held at the Sears Art Museum, located in the Eccles Fine Arts Center on the Utah Tech campus.

“The showcase is a celebration of the remarkable artistic talent within our community,” Alex Chamberlain, chair of Utah Tech’s art department, said in the press release. “It’s a testament to the growth and development of our students from their first steps as freshmen to their accomplished senior projects.”

The exhibition highlights student achievements and provides a venue for the university’s art professors to display their recent works. Specifically, professor Del Parson, renowned for his religious and historical paintings, will showcase his art in the Eccles Grand Foyer.

Utah Tech’s art department offers students comprehensive training in visual arts through a blend of practical, hands-on courses and theoretical lectures covering art history and design principles. The department offers bachelor’s degrees in various art disciplines, including 3D/sculpture/ceramics, art education, animation, painting/drawing/illustration and photography/digital imaging.
